History of NeedMyDoctor

NeedMyDoctor was created to fill the need of two distinct groups. Patients who demanded better access to their healthcare providers and healthcare providers who need to reduce the effects of lower reimbursements coupled with escalating costs.

The founder of NeedMyDoctor, Joseph Sameh, started his career in the healthcare industry as a practice manager. In that capacity he was challenged with the patients who wanted to make requests or convey messages to their doctor. Sameh knew that when patients needed to contact their doctor they would dial the office number. After hour communication requests were notorious for their delays and errors.

Sameh left practice management and created American Mediconnect, a 24/7/365 medical answering service serving thousands of doctors and hundreds of thousands of patients. He then created PhoneScreen, a pioneering clinical trials recruitment firm. Time and technology changed but communications among patients/provider was still a problem. Millions of annual calls convinced Sameh that the Internet was the way to go.

With over 70% of malpractice suits the result of poor communications, and Sameh's extensive knowledge in this field he developed the patented technology on this site in order to provide doctors and patients with a simple, easy to use system that lets everyone communicate more effectively while also saving time and money and improving the relationship.
